ON THE FLY ON THE FLY ON THE FLY

THINK YOU’RE UP TO THE CHALLENGE of subduing either a YELLOWFIN or BLUEFIN capable of reaching 40 mph?  If so, no better way to find out than to give us a try.

Recent articles in The FISHERMAN, FLY FISHING New England, etc. have documented our growing success with yellowfin and bluefin, as well as a variety of bonito species and dolphin.  Look for several articles this year profiling school bluefin, dolphin, and bonito on 9-12W’s, with insights into eliminating common tackle failure.

Block Island’s North Bar in late May, June, & July offered great action with heavyweight stripers, little or no competition from other boats, and the chance for a heavyweight bass.  Best in 2010 was a 42”- 30 lb. striper.

September usually finds Atlantic (Green) bonito in the Mud Hole ESE of Block Island, where a chum fly or weighted Clouser in the slick simply “murders ‘em”. If you’ve never experienced the “bite in a chum slick”, perhaps this is the year to do so.
